O’Rourke Family Estate (OFE) is a 300-acre property with panoramic views of surrounding orchards, vineyards, rolling mountains and the glistening water of Okanagan Lake. Inspired by Europe’s most famous wineries, the property features 110 acres of vines, 300 metres of winding tunnels and 12,000 square-feet of cave space to store and age wines. Peak Cellars is located on a 7-acre property down the road from OFE, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of a Busser members include:
- Greet guests and enthusiastically represent our brand, providing service that goes above and beyond the expectations of our guests.
- Continually seek information about organizational menus, wine industry trends, winemaking practices, wine club memberships, and events across the entire organization.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Program.
Core responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with host, expeditor, server, tasting room and management teams to ensure that Bistro tables are cleared, cleaned and ready the next seating of guests.
- Assist with pouring water for guests, and ensuring that water bottle levels are always at least half-way full.
- Unload bins of dishes/glassware from service stations to kitchen to be cleaned and sanitized.
- Ensure washrooms are clean and that adequate supplies are stocked throughout every shift.
- Polish cutlery and glassware.
- Ensure that levels of all needed supplies are stocked adequately. This includes: pizza and to go boxes, napkins, cutlery, glassware, etc.
- Assist with washing dishes if the kitchen staff gets behind during the busier times.
- Arrange tables for large parties and reservations.
- Alert the assigned server if a guest has made a request.
- Report any unsatisfied guest to a Manager or Supervisor.
The ideal candidate is:
- Experienced in providing excellent customer service, ideally in a restaurant, winery or retail environment.
- Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region and estate offerings.
- Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
- Able to operate in high pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
- Able to manage time efficiently.
- Able to pay strong attention to detail.
- Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with dress code
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

- Follow cleaning checklist and procedures
The ideal candidate has:
- A passion for both wine and customer service.
- Experience participating in the delivery of customer experiences, ideally in a winery, restaurant or Retail environment.
- Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region and estate offerings.
- Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.

Scope:
Oversee day-to-day consumer facing operations of our Peak Cellars winery and Garden Bistro. Create a positive and sustainable environment that team members enjoy working in and guests enjoy experiencing. It’s very important that the successful candidate excels in the development of people and persistence of constantly improving customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations at Peak Cellars
- Coach and performance manage supervisors and managers
- Create strong organizational structure and consistency through the implementation of standard operating procedures and policies, quality and guest service standards
- Evaluate and implement strategies for improvements to productivity, operations and financial performance.
- Maintain budgets, forecasts, KPI’s and labour control
- Develop the yearly integrated marketing campaign, including overall marketing strategy, development of promotional materials, eblasts, digital advertising and social media
- Work with the Wine Club team to continue to develop and grow the wine club and engage wine club members in meaningful ways
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to guide performance targets while keeping the Garden Bistro on brand relating to menu, features and guest experiences while ensuring that food meets quality control standards
- Oversee the Tasting Room team to review and refresh experiences, manage tour operator program and develop merchandising plan for the retail section
- Demonstrate exceptional guest experience through training and effectively resolve customer complaints
- Ensure facility is well maintained, repaired and clean at all times
- Work with IT department to keep systems and programs working and up to date in conjunction with the company technology stack strategy.
- Participate with industry associations and other trade and consumer events as directed
- Comply with health and legal regulations to promote a safe workplace for all
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions including marketing, procurement, operations and finance
- Restaurant experience
- Winery experience
- Marketing experience in deploying an integrated marketing campaign
- WSET Level 2
- Serving it Right certification
- Holds or is willing to work towards holding a First Aid, Level 1 certification.
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Compensation:
- Salary $90,000 to $150,000 annually
