Peak Cellars is a renowned winery located on a picturesque 7-acre property, home to our Goldie Road vineyard. Alongside our award-winning wines, we produce fresh, high-quality fruits and vegetables from our organic garden for use in our Garden Bistro. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Bartender to join our dynamic team and provide exceptional service in our winery tasting room and bistro.

Reports To: Front of House Manager
Direct Reports: None (Works directly with FOH staff and managers)
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely and professional manner, adhering to all legal requirements and company standards.
Create craft cocktails, wine pairings, and signature drinks based on Peak Cellars’ wine list and the guest’s preferences.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked.
Check the identification of guests to ensure they meet the legal drinking age requirements.
Monitor alcohol consumption and assist guests in a responsible manner.
Keep track of beverage inventory, report any low stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including cleanliness and sanitation practices.
Assist in maintaining the overall ambiance of the tasting room and bar area, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Provide exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming and friendly environment for all guests.
Engage with guests to recommend wine pairings, cocktails, and menu items based on their preferences.
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Actively engage with guests to enhance their experience and encourage return visits.
Work closely with other bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest service.
Communicate effectively with the Front of House Manager and other staff to ensure the best possible service and guest experience.
Assist in training new staff on bartending duties, product knowledge, and customer service techniques.
Accurately process orders and payments using the POS system, ensuring the proper handling of cash and credit card transactions.
Help manage bar sales and contribute to achieving revenue goals.
Ensure the safety and well-being of guests by following responsible alcohol service guidelines.
Report any incidents or accidents in a timely manner to management, completing any required documentation.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all workplace safety procedures and protocols.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, mixology techniques, and wine knowledge to enhance the guest experience.
Participate in ongoing training sessions to improve product knowledge and bartending skills.
Share insights and feedback with management to continuously improve the guest experience and bar operations.
At least 1-2 years of bartending experience, ideally in a winery, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting.
Passionate about wine and mixology, with a strong interest in learning about wine pairings and local offerings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests and create a positive atmosphere.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of local alcohol regulations and responsible service practices.
Ability to handle cash and POS systems accurately and efficiently.
Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
A professional appearance and demeanor.
Holds or is willing to obtain a Serving It Right certification.
Wine education (WSET or similar) is a plus but not required.
