O’Rourke Family Estate (OFE) is a 300-acre property with panoramic views of surrounding orchards, vineyards, rolling mountains, and the glistening water of Okanagan Lake. Inspired by Europe’s most famous wineries, the property features 110 acres of vines, 300 meters of winding tunnels, and 12,000 square feet of cave space to store and age wines. In addition to OFE, the O’Rourke portfolio includes Peak Cellars. Located on a 7-acre property in Lake Country, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.
Role type: Casual, On-Call, Seasonal (0 – 32 hours per week).

Reports into: Manager, Events and Accommodations and Manager, Event Operations and Accommodations.
Role Scope: The Event Attendant is responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of events hosted at O’Rourke Family Estate. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences by supporting event setup, execution, and teardown while maintaining the estate’s high standards of service and professionalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Setup and Preparation:
- Work collaboratively with the Event Team and Management to create and execute memorable experiences for guests across all properties.
- Continually seek information about organizational menus, wine industry trends, winemaking practices, wine club memberships, and events across the entire organization.
- Assist with the setup of event spaces, including furniture arrangement, décor placement, and other equipment setup.
Food and Beverage Service:
- Greet guests and enthusiastically represent our brand, providing service that goes above and beyond the expectations of our guests.
- Serve food and beverages to guests, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery according to event timelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event.
Event Monitoring:
- Observe event flow and communicate with the Event Manager or supervisor regarding any issues or adjustments needed.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor during high-pressure moments or unforeseen circumstances.
- Assist with inventory review and control, stocking supplies, and facility support such as ensuring adequate washroom supplies or coat check management.
Post- Event Duties:
- Assists with cleanup and teardown, ensuring the event space is restored to its original condition.
- Report any damages or maintenance to the appropriate department.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Prior experience in the delivery of events, hospitality, or customer service, ideally in a winery or similar environment.
- Dedicated to providing personalized and professional service to all guests, and to showcasing the local region and estate offerings.
- Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions.
- Able to operate in a high-pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations.
- Able to manage time efficiently.
- Able to pay strong attention to detail.
- Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, aligning with dress code
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Holds a Serving it Right certification, and ensures responsible service of alcohol.
- Holds or is willing to work towards WHMIS certification.
- Holds or is willing to work towards holding a WSET designation.
- Holds or is willing to work towards holding a First Aid, Level 1 certification.
- Holds or is willing to work towards a Class 4 license.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
