O’Rourke Family Estate (OFE) is a 300-acre property with panoramic views of surrounding orchards, vineyards, rolling mountains, and the glistening water of Okanagan Lake. Inspired by Europe’s most famous wineries, the property features 110 acres of vines, 300 meters of winding tunnels, and 12,000 square feet of cave space to store and age wines.  In addition to OFE, the O’Rourke portfolio includes Peak Cellars. Located on a 7-acre property in Lake Country, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.

Reports into:  Vineyard Manager

Role Scope: We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Vineyard Pruner to join our team at O’Rourke Family Vineyards Ltd. This temporary, full-time position will last until pruning is completed, approximately 2 months. While prior experience is preferred, we are willing to provide training for motivated individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform vineyard pruning tasks including cutting and shaping grapevines as per instructions
• Work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Complete repetitive tasks such as sitting, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, with attention to detail and safety
• Maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring the quality of pruning work

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous vineyard experience is an asset but not required
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and physical work in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Must be comfortable working independently or in a team
• Must have own transportation to commute to the vineyard location
• Availability to work weekdays, full-time, until pruning is finished
