We have finished a major restaurant expansion and are looking for a self-motivated and charismatic Restaurant Manager to join our Hospitality team. With award winning wines and our locally inspired bistro menu, we are passionate about creating a memorable and knowledgeable experience.   Description: Reporting to the General Manager, a Restaurant Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the Bistro.   Responsibilities: The responsibilities of a Restaurant Manager include, but are not limited to: - Develop and communicate standard operating procedures for excellence in the industry - Develop new marketing strategies to grow our loyal customer base and wine club - Planning and coordinating services to emphasize wine & food sales; accompanied by a quality culinary experience - Effective hiring, training and management of employees to maximize performance and guest experience - Creating positive and rewarding environment among front and back of house teams - Ensuring guest experience satisfaction; respond to guest reviews and complaints - Reporting of sales, profit, labor, inventory, forecasts as need to GM - Work with Chef to coordinate menus, features, special events - Continuous development of product knowledge within team for all wine products and Bistro menus - Oversee scheduling, according to forecasted sales and labor targets - Oversee programming of Point of Sale LightSpeed system; floor plans, inventory, pricing, costing - Solve procedure deficiencies i.e. payment processors, settlements - Liason with service providers and suppliers - Provide updated menus for seating and to team for company website, online products, Trip Advisor, Google - Ensure Tasting room and Bistro operational supply needs - Collaborate with social media/advertising efforts; proper reflection of our brand, product and events - Ensure facilities properly maintained and appealing to guests - Monitor that all health and safety standards are adhered to - Advise tip committee for fair & systematic distribution, not controlled by management.   Requirements: - Previous management experience - Demonstrate superior leadership skills, good judgement and decision making - Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of POS software applications, uncluding Microsoft office - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others - Serving It Right - WSET   O'Rourke Family Vineyards adheres to employment equity and equal opportunity programs and encourages all women, visible minorities, Aboriginals and disabled persons to apply. Located in Lake Country, BC, Peak Cellars has a ½ acre garden with two greenhouses and berry bushes that our Garden Bistro uses to prepare dishes with newly-harvested ingredients. Peak Cellars is located in beautiful Lake Country, BC, surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and beautiful mountain views.   We are currently recruiting for a Controller with a minimum of five (5) years practical experience in full cycle accounting.   The candidate must be energetic, positive, self-motivated and have a strong work ethic with attention to detail and the ability to work with little supervision. The candidate must have the ability to help build the wineries and brand, while working with the larger team on building for the future. The business is very entrepreneurial and requires people that are willing to step up at times.   The ideal candidate will preferably have strong accounting knowledge and experience in the hospitality or winemaking industry. Experience in dealing with web-based sales would also be a strong asset.   Controller Functions and Responsibilities: Full cycle accounting including, but not limited to: - Accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll review and coding. - Generating monthly reporting on business performance including income statements and job cost reports. - Provides leadership/mentorship to the Accounts Payable Coordinator and Finance Assistant. - Daily review of sales reconciliations for restaurant, winery, and accommodations. - Inventory tracking and management, fixed asset management, product costing and analysis, and budgeting and forecasting. - Monthly government and liquor board reporting and remittances. - Oversight of the developing online sales initiatives to support the overall growth objectives of the company. - Job costing and reporting for associated construction activities as the business makes significant capital investments expanding its existing operations.  - Assesses the effectiveness of existing systems, processes and internal controls within the accounting/finance function and provides recommendations for improvements and executes improvements with a focus on efficiency. - Assist with estate property management.   Controller Qualifications and Experience: - Accounting diploma from an accredited training institution. - Professional Accounting Designation is considered an asset. - Minimum of five (5) years’ full cycle accounting experience. - Retail and Restaurant POS experience is an asset. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills. - Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP based financial systems.     Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Lake Country, BC   Peak Cellars (O’Rourke Family Vineyards Ltd) adheres to employment equity and equal opportunity programs and encourages all women, visible minorities, Aboriginals and disabled persons to apply.
